NEET UG 2024 Counselling Round 2: Choice Filling Opens, Seat Allotment Results, and MCC Schedule Updates

NEET UG 2024 Admissions Alert: Registration for Round 2 of NEET UG 2024 counseling is now live, as announced by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), on September 5. MBBS and BDS seats in medical and dental colleges across the country will be filled through this round.

Candidates have until September 10 to complete their applications on the official website, mcc.nic.in. Applicants participating in Round 2 will be required to pay the registration fee and re-select their colleges and courses.

The final seat allotment result for NEET 2024 Round 1 counselling was released on August 25, 2024, with a total of 26,109 candidates securing seats. The provisional seat allotment results were announced on August 23 and 24, 2024, with candidates given the opportunity to submit grievances until 11 AM on August 25, 2024.

NEET 2024 counselling registration is scheduled to begin on August 14, 2024. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) announced this in an official notification on July 29, 2024. All four rounds, including the mop-up and stray vacancy rounds, have been announced on the MCC's official website at https://mcc.nic.in/

NEET UG 2024 Counselling Details

The NEET UG 2024 counselling process will include approximately six rounds, which are expected to continue until November 2024. The exact number of counselling rounds may vary depending on the seat vacancies for each course. The NEET UG 2024 counselling process is crucial for the allotment of medical seats, with a total of 1,09,170 MBBS seats and 27,868 BDS seats available. MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats will be available through the NEET counselling process for 2024 under the All-India Quota (AIQ), which accounts for 15% of all seats. Only candidates who meet the NEET cutoff or qualifying marks will be eligible to participate in the medical counselling for 2024. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) central and state counselling processes are based on 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programs at central and Deemed Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and AFMC institutions. In contrast, the State Authorities are responsible for conducting the medical admission process for 85 percent of the state quota seats.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling Rounds

NEET 2024 Counselling process consists of four rounds, which are as follows:

In addition to the first four rounds of NEET UG 2024 counselling, there may be additional rounds to fill any remaining vacant seats. It is possible that the number of rounds will increase further depending on the number of vacancies.

NEET 2024 Counselling Process

The candidates who qualify for NEET 2024 and wish to participate in the counselling process for the AIQ seats in Deemed Universities/Central Universities/ESIC colleges are required to register online on the official website of MCC.

NEET 2024 Registration:

The first step in the NEET counselling process involves registering for each round's counselling window. This registration is done entirely online. Candidates must visit the official MCC website to complete their registration and pay the fee via net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.

NEET 2024 Choice Filling:

  • After completing the registration process, candidates need to log into their registered account on the MCC portal to fill in their choices.
  • Candidates must select their preferred courses and colleges in the desired order of preference.
  • They can fill in any number of choices from the provided list.
  • Choices can be added or deleted as needed.
  • Candidates can also move a choice up or down according to their preference.
  • After filling in their choices, candidates should save a copy of the filled choices for future reference.

NEET Counselling 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the NEET UG 2024 counselling process, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • They must have qualified for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
  • They must be registered on the official MCC website.
  • All candidates, including those from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, are eligible to participate in the counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats and deemed universities.

Nationality Conversion Before NEET Counselling 2024

Before each round of NEET counselling 2024, the MCC will offer candidates the option to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI. The process and conditions for nationality conversion are outlined below.

Documents Required for NEET Counselling 2024

Candidates reporting to the assigned institute for seat confirmation must provide the following documents:

  • NEET Admit Card 2024
  • NEET 2024 Scorecard
  • Class 10 Mark Sheet and Certificate
  • Class 12 Mark Sheet and Certificate
  • Valid, non-expired, government-issued photo identification
  • Approximately six to eight passport-sized photographs (preferably the same ones used in the NEET 2024 application)
