Updated NEET PG 2024 Exam Pattern

The NEET PG exam pattern plays a crucial role in your preparation strategy. Here's a breakdown of the key components:

  1. Mode of Examination: The exam will be conducted in a computer-based format. Candidates will take the exam at designated examination centres, using a computer to answer the questions.
  2. Duration: The exam runs for three hours and thirty minutes i.e. 210 minutes. This time is allocated to answer all the questions across various sections.
  3. Number of Questions: The exam will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question will have four options, out of which only one will be correct.
  4. Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will earn you 4 marks, while each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 1 mark. There is no negative marking for unanswered questions, so it’s advisable to attempt all questions you are confident about.

Latest Modifications in NEET PG Exam by NBEMS

  • The NEET PG exam question paper will be divided into many time-bound sections. Each of the five time-bound sections (A, B, C, D and E) of the NEET PG question paper will have 40 questions and 42 minutes to complete.
  • Candidates will be permitted to go on to the following section once they have finished the time allocated to the previous section.
  • Also, when a section is over and its given time finishes, candidates will not be permitted to review the questions or change their responses.
  • As soon as the previous section's permitted time ends, the questions for the next section will begin automatically. Candidates can mark any question for review, no matter whether it has an answer or not. This means that before the section's allotted time finishes, candidates can review the marked questions.
  • It is important to remember that questions that have been marked for review will be assessed under the marking guidelines mentioned in the examination's information bulletin.
  • The overall number of questions in the question paper and the practicality of creating such sections will determine the exact number of time-restricted sections in an exam.
