NEET PG 2023: Counselling to begin at the end of July

It is anticipated that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling registration would start by the end of this month. MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) is the competent authority to conduct NEET PG Counselling and the counselling schedule would be out soon on the official website. Based on the NEET PG score, admission to PG medical programmes would be made for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ). On March 5, the NEET PG exam was held and on March 14, the results were released. Four rounds of counselling will be conducted such as one, two, mop-up and stray vacancy rounds.

If a candidate fails to achieve the required passing marks then he would not be eligible to participate in NEET counselling.  

NEET PG 2023 Counselling Process

1. Registration - Eligible candidates will have to register themselves on the official website i.e. mcc.nic.in which is the very first step of NEET counselling 2023. By mentioning the required details such as name, date of birth, roll number and other details to generate the login credentials. 
2. Payment of NEET counselling fee - Candidates from the general category who wish to attend AIQ or Central University will have to pay Rs.1000, while those from the SC and ST categories will have to pay Rs.500. For applying to a deemed university, candidates will have to pay Rs.5000 as application fees for the medical institutes.
3. Choice-filling - For NEET PG seat allocation, candidates will have to make course and college choices based on their preferences. Choices should be made attentively as they cannot be altered after locking. There is no limit on the number of choices to be made.
4. Seat allotment - Seat allotment results will be published after the previous steps through which candidates get to know about the allotted institute and branch. After this, they will have to report physically to the allotted college for the admission process completion.
